The Lab dental glazes

Our background

David James attended Llandaff Tech (1975 – 78) where he attained distinctions in practical work and merits in theory (due to too many distractions).

Llandaff Tech, famous for starting the first full-time course in dental technology, became South Glamorgan Institute of Higher Education and is now part of the University of South Wales.

After completing his course, David returned to Cornwall, where he initially specialised in orthodontics and, after two years, worked in prosthetics before finally training as a ceramist in 1983 and setting up Artisan Ceramics a year later.

David’s main hobbies are cycling and eating… two activities which complement each other perfectly.

James Ronald studied at Lambeth College, London where he graduated with distinction winning prestigious awards; the Mike Kempton Cup and the Robin Huggett award.

James gained valuable experience and knowledge at a successful dental laboratory in Surrey where he ran the implant department for many years.

Now settled in Cornwall James has over 10 years dental work experience behind him and has been running a successful private dental laboratory for the past 3 years.

Visit Jubilee Wharf for more information about this amazing building development.

From 2018 The Lab relocated to new premises nearby and we're looking forward to developing our new space as the long-term future for the business.
